Terms and Conditions

Your invoice indicates that our terms and conditions are posted on our website and clearly displayed in our showrooms.

By payment of that invoice you confirm that you have had sight of these terms and conditions and that you agree to them.

Your statutory rights are not affected. Namely, under the Sale of Goods 1979 as amended by the Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 a customer may be entitled to a refund where the goods sold are faulty, not as described or where the seller had no legal right to sell the goods.

Returns

We do not offer a return service for unwanted or over ordered goods. Specials or make to order items cannot be returned.

Variation

Tiles will vary in colour, shade, veining, etc., from the pictures illustrated on the website or samples received. This is normal and by signing for the goods, you are confirming that they are acceptable.
Tiles are often packed in damp conditions and will not dry out until unpacked. They will often lighten as they dry.
You need to allow your tiles to dry so that any variations in colour and tone are clearly visible. This will let you display any interesting natural features in the tile or to use them in less visible areas or for cuts.
Please see special notes reference travertine tiles below. Specific terms of sale apply.

Installation by the customer

Installation is agreed to mean acceptance of the goods as fit for purpose, delivered as described on your invoice and undamaged.

Under no circumstances can goods be exchanged, replaced or refunded once they have been installed.
We do not install anything. We will introduce you to third parties who can install for you. We do not warrant their work and we accept no responsibility for it. We accept no responsibility (explicit or implied) for their work or conduct.

Where a quote is provided with installation costs, this is not an offer to sell; these are for guidance and budgetary purposes only. You must confirm installation costs with the party undertaking the installation. We cannot be held responsible for any variation in installation cost.

We suggest that you take up independent references for potential installers.

We cannot refund or exchange any products you may have left over.

Ordering

Please bear in mind that you lose some meterage due to cutting the tiles to meet walls and corners.
Please order the correct amount of tiles that you need. Allow an additional 10 – 15 % to the meterage for breakages and cuts. Stone is a natural material and has natural fault lines.

Any ‘natural’ breakage must be covered by your 15% contingency. Breakages are typically used for cuts.
If you under order it is possible that subsequent products will differ from the ones you have previously ordered.
You should allow up to 15% wastage factor when ordering. Where a high degree of variability is a feature of the stone we will often provide you with some additional tiles to help cover wastage. If in doubt send us a rough plan and dimensions and we can advise on coverage and wastage.

It is better to slightly over order. If you have to order extra tiles to finish the installation you may find that they come from a different batch, cut at a different location within the quarry and variation in the colour of the stone may be even more pronounced

Delivery

Once you have signed for the delivery you have signed for the goods as in “good condition” and “quantity correct” and returns cannot be accepted once the goods have left our control. It is the customer responsibility to check that the ordered quantity has been delivered. We cannot rectify shortages not reported at the point of delivery.
It is not our responsibility to determine if the person taking delivery on your behalf is qualified to do so. We are not responsible to make up any shortages or damages discovered subsequent to a 3rd party incorrectly signing for goods “in good condition “ and “ quantity correct “ on your behalf.

We use a pallet distribution company to deliver all of our products; they are only obliged to deliver the pallet(s) at the nearest safe point that is accessible to them. They are not obliged to handle the goods from the drop point.
We cannot guarantee the time of delivery on standard pallet charges, it can be any time on the date given. If you need a timed delivery or a call 30 minutes before delivery please let us know.
